In collaboration with Art Souterrain and TD Bank Group, Arsenal Contemporary Art Montreal invites you to the TD Cultural Tuesday x Art Souterrain : Oli Sorenson + Alain Snyers, during which two performances by the artists will take place, followed by informal discussions. This event takes place as part of the exhibition “Le vrai du faux” organized by Art Souterrain.
ABOUT - OLI SORENSON
Oli Sorenson consistently disrupts institutional expectations of the visual artist as a producer of proprietary images. With Fontana Mashup, Sorenson pursues an approach initiated with his Video Pistoletto series to transfer the gestures of established artists upon new and yet unexplored forms.
ABOUT - ALAIN SNYERS
Through deflection and parodic procedures, Alain Snyers turns a critical eye on society. By multiple plastic means, including humour, he creates devices that express realities and social behaviours. During this TD Cultural Tuesday, Snyers will hold the parody of an auction, selling fake ads from the fake real estate agency MONTR'IMMO. Participants will be asked to pay a few dollars to acquire certain titles.
ABOUT - TD CULTURAL TUESDAYS
The purpose of the TD Cultural Tuesdays is to bring contemporary visual art into dialogue with other artistic practices. From 6 to 9, these gatherings take the form of events allowing the convergence of different audiences in a friendly atmosphere.
